Announcing Our Fall 2011 Back to School Contest Winner!
If you’ve read Carrie’s blog post “Be a Life Long Student”, you’ll understand why The Intimate Couple Team wanted to encourage you in going “back to school”—not for algebra, physics, or history, but Marriage Studies!The contest was simple: participants let us know how they and their spouse will further their education in the “field of marriage relationships”. A random entry was to be chosen as our winner on Wednesday, September 14, 2011, 9 am (EST). Unfortunately, Carrie's brain hemorrhage and surgery on September 7, 2011 has really set us back ... by about 3 months! We have just now selected a winner! Congratulations to Stephanie from Canada! Stephanie and her spouse are investing in their marriage by... - Reading Getting the Love you Want by Harville Hendrix. The book discusses... Each of us spend our lives searching for what Harville calls an "Imago" which is a compilation of traits (good and bad) of influential people from our early childhood. We try to find a spouse who matches this "Imago". In some cases the negative traits that attracted us are the same ones that irritate us after marriage. He says that it is actually possible to find healing of childhood wounds through the marriage relationship with effort from both spouses.
