Delayed ejaculation and reduced volume

by Ashley

Hi, I am a 28 year old man recently married. My wife and I have not had a great amount of sex due to time and other constraints. However, often it happens that I am not able to ejaculate with my wife so I have to masturbate to get the ejaculation. The ejaculation is not satisfactory and the volume of seminal fluid is very less. Kindly advise.

Our Answer:
Sex is like a glue that holds a marriage together; make sure that you and your wife are not underestimating its role in your marriage! If, as newlyweds you are shortchanging your sex life, what’s going to happen in 5 years?! Life gets busier and more hectic as time goes on, especially as children come--so you have to make your physical relationship a priority--for both of you.

In terms of your ejaculation/orgasm problems, here are a few suggestions:

  1. Don’t worry. This issue is important, but don’t get into the head space where your worry makes you focus on the problem rather than on having fun during sex. Sex is to be fun: make sure you’re having fun!

  2. Increase the time you are involved in foreplay...take a good 20 or 30 minutes! This time is for your wife too! Remember, if you focus on pleasing your wife, your ejaculation issues will not be the primary concern.

  3. Add variety to your lovemaking to increased excitement. For example, by practicing oral sex or engaging in manual stimulation of each other, instead of intercourse, you may not need to masturbate at all.
Occasionally, a husband or wife may have orgasm problems because of moral dilemmas and perceived taboos that are being struggled with during love making. We would suggest reading the article Christian Views on Sex, which examines what God’s Word really says about sex!

  4. If the problem persists, consult your doctor.
