Jun 6, 2009, 800 Online Intimacy Surveys Completed!

Congratulations to Kelly on being the 800th person to complete our online Intimacy Survey!

Though it is interesting for us to look at the statistics gathered from the survey, the main reason we made the survey available is to foster communication between husbands and wives. If you and your spouse haven't taken time to fill in the survey, we strongly suggest you do now! Use the questions and your responses as a springboard for some real heart-to-heart conversation.

May 20, 2009, The Intimate Couple Live on Internet Radio Show

VoiceAmerica is an Internet radio network producing a number of programs, including Stay Sane Now hosted by Claudine Struck. Claudine invited us to come on her show, and talk about www.the-intimate-couple, and our new E-book: The Seven Day Sex Challenge.

What an awesome opportunity! We are so excited to be able to share our story, and encourage couples that developing intimacy (intellectual, spiritual, emotional, and sexual) will be transformational!

Our discussion with Claudine will air live on Thursday, May 21, 2009, from 2:33 to 2:45 EST on the Stay Sane Now radio program and, of course, will be recorded and available for listening at a later date.

Our participation on VoiceAmerica and Stay Sane Now does not indicate our endorsement of the views expressed on the VoiceAmerica radio network and Stay Sane Now program.

May 20, 2009, Carrie speaks to a local MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) group

My ever-talented-wife spoke to a gathering of M.O.P.S. this morning!

The Mothers of Pre-Schoolers group is a collection of ladies who lead busy, busy lives--and yet realize intimacy may be difficult but so important to their relationships with their husbands and for their families.

Busyness, fatigue, and small children seem to be intimacy busters! Many of us fall in to a very difficult trap to get out of when we succumb to our circumstances at the expense of Intimacy! We will burn out without intimacy; it is the great rejuvenator!

Carrie shared with the ladies about the four types of intimacy:

  • intellectual
  • emotional
  • spiritual, and
  • sexual

and encouraged the women to make intimacy a priority! Practical ideas, and a good Q & A discussion time made Carrie's presentation significant to the ladies who were present!

May 20, 2009, Carrie and Jim speak to local Christian pastors/workers

We found ourselves in a very exciting venue this week as we were invited to speak to the local Ministerial Association. Pastors and Christian workers in our city are invited to come to monthly luncheons—and usually there are guest speakers; this week it was our turn!

With only 30 minutes to share about one of our favorite topics, intimacy, the time flew by and everyone had the experience of trying to “get a drink out of a fire hydrant!” The unique dynamics and burdens of pastors was on our mind as we covered the topic: Singlehood, Marriage, and Ministry.

Single or married, every one of us needs intimacy to be healthy. For those who are single, intimacy with another person is intellectual, spiritual, and emotional. When married, the sexual component of intimacy is introduced—and transforms the relationship into the most powerful and unique bond possible between two individuals!

And, by-the-way, marriage is the only relationship strong enough to contain the powerful component of sexual intimacy! Anything less than the covenant of marriage--and sexual intimacy as God designed it is tarnished or diminished. When we do it right--it is awesome!!
