Marriage Surveys
1500+ Completed!
What are the Results?

Marriage surveys are excellent tools to help couples dialogue about their relationship. We have a free intimacy questionnaire that is quick and simple to complete.

marriage surveys Results are now in for more than 1500 Intimacy Surveys (as of December 2009), and we would like to publish some of the results for our readers. As you may remember, our questionnaire queries four main areas:

  1. Spiritual Intimacy
  2. Intellectual Intimacy
  3. Emotional Intimacy
  4. Sexual Intimacy
Obviously, our questionnaire results are not statistically accurate: responses are anecdotal, and we don’t have a statistically viable sample space ... But, it will be fun to take a look at the results anyway!

OK… here we go

  • almost two-thirds of our respondents were female! 64%)
  • a significant 45% have been married less than 5 years
Spiritual Intimacy
  • generally, spiritual disciplines in the home are waning (prayer together, spiritual leadership, Bible reading and study)
  • couples do, however, pray for each other throughout the day, and are comfortable sharing what they believe God is saying to them
Emotional Intimacy
  • by and large, couples enjoy spending time conversing, and saying “I love you"
  • partners interrupt each other during conversation
  • couples rarely go out on a date night
  • one partner spends more time in front of the TV than conversing with the other
Intellectual Intimacy
  • most couples feel their hobbies and interests are validated by their spouse
  • most couples feel they can express their own opinions without causing conflict
  • most couples agree on their core values
Sexual Intimacy
  • most couples are comfortable talking about sex
  • rarely, though, do couples kiss as frequently as they did in their first year of marriage
  • most partners acknowledge initiating sex at least 25% of the time
  • one partner in most relationships say their spouse is not as interested in sex as they are
  • only 3% of respondents have sex daily
  • almost 50% of respondents have sex less frequently than 2 or 3 times per month
  • more than 10% go without sex for months at a time
Where does your relationship experience fit into the results of our readers' marriage surveys?
