More About Jim and Carrie

Carrie’s gifting in office skills was already evident during her high school years. Even then, she was able to use her abilities as the “unofficial” secretary of her pastor father. When she joined the Christian school faculty as Kindergarten teacher, her office administrative skills continued to be put to good use as she also filled the role as School secretary. In addition, her role as Church secretary continued to expand.

Romance! Carrie fell madly in love with Jim and married him in 1982 during that first year of the Christian school; she was the Kindergarten teacher, he was the Principal. They went on to make beautiful lesson plans together!

Family! Jim and Carrie have been married over 29 years, and have an active household with 9 children! (No, this is not a typo... 9 children!) From their 28-year-old musician-songwriter daughter to their 12-year-old little princess--with 7 dynamic young men in between--Jim and Carrie’s mission is to impart values for life to their children.

• In June 2007, Jim and Carrie welcomed Sarah, their first daughter-in-law, to the family when Josh, their oldest son was married.
• In June 2009, Jim and Carrie became grand-parents of their first grandchild, a beautiful grand-daughter, Piper.
• In April 2010, their second son, Trevor, married Beth... a lovely young woman!
• In February 2011, Josh and Sarah's second daughter, Vienna, was born! Another grand-child for Jim and Carrie!
• In April 2011, Nathan, their third son, married the lovely Sarah. The family just keeps growing!

Vocation... Jim serves as Senior Pastor of a growing, purpose-driven church in Ontario, Canada. Carrie is a self-confessed “extreme mothering” enthusiast who is never truly happy without her palm pilot iPhone or lists. Her organizational skills enable her to be Jim’s assistant as well as the church Office Manager.

Spare Time!? During spare time, Jim enjoys volunteering and investing time at his teenagers’ high school, and of course, at the church he serves at! He is energized by passing on values that result in changed lives! Carrie... has no spare time. :-)
