Signs of an Improper Relationship

Question:
I attend church meetings and am one of the youth leaders. The Pastor's wife is about 10 years older and I have known her from a very young age. However, of late, she has been very observant of me, including the dress I wear, how I walk and talk and we inevitably exchange glances during meetings (eye to eye contact).

The vibes I feel are affecting me and I am beginning to think wrongful thoughts of her. Please advise.

Our Answer:
You are to be commended for being honest about what is going on here!

You are only responsible for yourself; (the Pastor’s wife, of course, is responsible for herself). As such, you must separate yourself from her and make the interactions very infrequent--somehow or another. If withdrawing is not possible given the situation you are in, you should seriously consider attending another church. The stakes are too high for you to allow your thoughts, your eye-to-eye contact, or her attentiveness to you to continue. It is important that you’re not in any position where you are feeling these kinds of vibes from married women.

“Flee from sexual immorality.” (1 Corinthians 6:18). This means when temptation comes (perhaps through a flirtatious glance or an intimate comment), the only thing you can do to avoid becoming a victim is to flee! You must take this situation seriously.

Sincerely,

Jim and Carrie

Satan

How did Satan get raised in this? Was it not God who made us sexual for both procreation and sanity?

Run

When the Word says flee, it means FLEE. You might think this is exciting and you can control it and that it is not such a big issue. Run as fast and as far as you can. Satan is trying to catch you with the oldest trick in the book.
