How to Talk About Sex

Question:
"How do I talk to a woman about sex?"

Answer
[ Talk about sex ] To give you a proper answer we need to know more information. Which of the following options are you wondering about?

  1. Providing the facts of nature to a young girl, your daughter, perhaps?
  2. Broaching the topic of sexual intimacy with your fiancée in preparation for marriage?
  3. Discussing sexual issues with your wife.

As you might imagine, who you are speaking to determines how and what you should say!

Let us assume you are referring to option 2 or 3, and are having difficulty bringing up a sex-related issue because of embarrassment. There are two key questions you need to ask yourself before beginning this type of sensitive conversation:

  1. What are your goals for this conversation?
  2. What are your motives for this conversation?

We think the best way to approach sexual intimacy is to carefully consider what it is you specifically want to discuss, and then, if possible, find articles that relate to that topic—and read them through together before discussing them.
