Valentine's Day will never be the same

by Nicole Seivert
(Kenosha, WI, USA)

His nephew's birthday is on Valentine's Day so we went to his birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese and then we started to get ready for our very special Valentine's Day plans. I was all changed and just doing my makeup when he told me it was time for me to close my eyes for my gift. I hate closing my eyes because it is so tempting to peek but I was a good girlfriend and kept them shut. When I was finally allowed to open them, there was gifts all over the coffee table. Simpsons PJ pants (because he loves the Simpsons and it has become a part of our relationship), roses (how romantic), a card (get one every Valentine's Day and birthday), balloons (the big helium kind), a stuffed animal, my favorite chocolates. I was very excited and wanted to open the card first (I always do, its just my first instinct) but he told me I had to wait. So I was just enjoying all my gifts when I finally realized that behind all this was a brownie...in the shape of a heart...with words on it..."Will you marry me?" and there was a RING in the middle!!!! I was super excited and told him of course and we hugged and kissed. Once I put that ring on, I was allowed to open the card which said, "I am happy knowing that every Valentine's Day from now on will be celebrated as husband and wife." It was freakin adorable. We are getting married on August 12 and I am so excited to finally be marrying him after two and a half years together (and apart as I go to school in Idaho and he lives in Wisconsin)!!
